GUO Yaping
Deputy Secretary and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission

GUO Yaping, was born in February 1968 of Han nationality and is from Wuyi County, Hebei Province. She became a member of the Communist Party of China in June 1988. She holds a master’s degree from Sun Yat-sen University, and is currently a professor.

Guo Yaping obtained a Bachelor’s degree from the Sociology Department of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) in June 1989. She then served as counselor, deputy secretary of the CYL Committee, and secretary of the CYL Committee in the School of Foreign Languages at SYSU. She successfully completed an on-the-job postgraduate program in the Department of Administration Management of SYSU between September 1996 and June 1999. In May 1999, she was promoted to deputy secretary of the SYSU CYL Committee, and then served as secretary of SYSU CYL Committee from October 2001 to October 2005. From October 2005 until September 2008 she served as director of the Undergraduate Admission Office, and from June 2008 until May 2011 as director of Office of the SYSU Committee of the CPC. In February 2011 she was appointed as director of the Organization Department of the SYSU Committee of the CPC. Since July 2013, she has been Deputy Secretary of SYSU Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of SYSU.
