WANG Xuehua
Vice President
WANG Xuehua, a native of Hengyang, Hunan Province, was born in February 1964. He is a second-level professor and PhD supervisor at Sun Yat-sen University. He serves as a member of the central committee of the China Democratic League, a member of the standing committee of the 12th Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress, and Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University.

Professor Wang Xuehua obtained his B.S. degree from the Department of Physics at Xiangtan University in 1984, and became a teacher at Xiangtan University. In 1990, he completed his master’s studies in the Department of Physics at Xiangtan University and received his M.S. degree from Hunan University. He received his PhD from the Department of Applied Physics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1995.

Professor Wang Xuehua has long conducted research in the field of nanophotonics, the interaction between light and matter, and quantum optics. He is a Distinguished Professor of the Changjiang Scholars Program of the Ministry of Education (2006), a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2007), an honoree of the National Middle-aged and Young Experts with Outstanding Contributions program (2011), Chief Scientist of the National Major Scientific Research Program (2009), and Principal Investigator of the National Key Research and Development Program (2016).

Since 2008, Professor Wang Xuehua has successively held the positions of Deputy Dean of the School of Physics and Engineering at Sun Yat-sen University; member of the standing committee of the 11th Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress; Deputy Dean of the Graduate School, Director of the Office of Talent Development, Dean of the School of Physics, Director of the Office of Scientific Research, Assistant President, and Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University.
