Speaker: Associate Professor Jianlong Wang
Chair:
Professor Junjun Ding
Time: 9:30-11:00 am, Thursday, November 9, 2017
Venue: Bo Xue Hall, 15th floor, Medical Science and Technology Building, Guanghzou North Campus of Sun Yat-sen University

About the speaker:
Dr. Jianlong Wang is an associate professor at Department of Cell, Developmental and Regenerative Biology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He received his PhD at University of Massachusetts at Amherst studying RNA viruses and host–virus interactions in plant symptom modulation. He studied pluripotency networks in embryonic stem cells as a postdoctoral fellow at the Children’s Hospital Boston in Harvard Medical School. He started his lab at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2009. His lab studies the biochemical basis and molecular mechanisms underlying stem cell pluripotency and somatic cell reprogramming, with a focus on transcriptional and epigenetic regulatory mechanisms. Dr. Wang has an extensive publication record on Nature, Nature Genetic, Cell Stem Cell, Molecular Cell, PNAS, etc as corresponding author within five years. The Dr. Harold and Golden Lamport Research Award and Irma T. Hirschl and Weill-Caulier Trusts Career Scientist Award rewarded him for his outstanding work.
