About the speaker:
Dr. Wong received her Ph.D. in Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, and she did her research with Irwin Rose (Nobel Laureate) at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. She became ABMG board certified director of the molecular diagnostic laboratories. She had been tenured at University of Massachusetts for 14 years. Dr. Wong dedicated to the development of novel biochemical and genomic technologies to study the molecular and pathogenic mechanism of inherited disorders, focusing on metabolic energy metabolism, mitochondrial, complex genetic disorders and cancer. She is now a tenured full professor of Molecular & Human Genetics, Senior Laboratory Director and Chief of R&D, Baylor Genetics Laboratories, Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Wong has published more than 230 papers and has a high influence internationally.
