About the speaker:
Dr. Qinfen Zhang, graduated from the School of Life Sciences of Sun Yat-sen University, is an associate professor at Sun Yat-sen University. She did her postdoctoral work in 2006-2007 in Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Baylor College of Medicine in the United States. She then successively visited Baylor College of Medicine’s Biological Macromolecular Imaging Center five times for short-term work and carried out cooperative research. Since 2004, Dr. Zhang has been undertaking the management and service of the electron microscope room at Sun Yat-sen University, especially the related equipment of the cryo-electron microsocopy.

Since 1996, Dr. Zhang  has been engaged in the research work of electron fiber, using the technology to a variety of pathogenic microorganisms, has the important function of biological macromolecular compounds, such as high resolution structure and function. In recent years, she presided over a number of national natural science fund project and published many structural biology high level papers.
