Awarded 2005 Spring Kaisi Scholarship, 15 Doctorate Students to Go Abroad

 

15 doctorate students had been awarded “SYSU 2005 Spring Kaisi Scholarship” after close examination. They will receive a total sum of 600,440 yuan to study abroad at prestigious universities or research institutes, such as New Jersey Institute of Technology, Michigan State University, Université Lyon in America, Britain, Canada, France and Italy.

Kaisi Scholarship was established with the alumni’s donation in October 2003, in an effort to push forward the internationalizing of this university’s graduate education. It will support about 50 outstanding doctoral candidates to carry out overseas research each year, in two timing, spring and autumn. In 2004, 54 students have been supported by this scholarship to study at Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Oxford, and Tokyo University. It has become one of the most significant and creative programs for cultivating doctoral candidate in Sun Yat-sen university.
