Cosponsored by the Communist Youth League Central Committee, the Ministry of Education, the State Administration of Radio Film and Television, and the Chinese Students’ Association, the Third “New Sea-route Cup” Campus Singer Competiton of Chinese University Students was held at Hunan University on December 16-18. Cai Lina, a SYSU student of law, won a silver medal in the amateur group, while the university was awarded the Best Organization prize.

Altogether 114 universities from 31 provinces across China have taken part in this contest, among which 82 were in the amateur group and 32 in the professional group. The judging committee consisted of renowned singers and experts from China’s top music academies. Under the instructions of the coach, Ms. Zhou Li, Cai Linan performed very well and exemplified the university’s excellence in art teaching.
