Ateneo de Manila University’s Confucius Institute Holds Chinese Painting Activity

As a joint effort of ADMU and SYSU, the Confucius Institute at the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU),Philippines has always adhered to promoting Chinese language and culture to the main stream society of Philippines since its inception in 2006, and it has held many cultural events in metropolitan commercial centers lately.

As a means to publicize the painting classes of the new semester, the Confucius Institute at the Ateneo de Manila University cooperated with Shangri-La, a famous high scale commercial center. A Chinese painting activity in which the citizens could experience the Chinese painting for free was held by the painting teachers and the previous students of the painting class in the hall of Shangri-La. Hundreds of people from all walks of life, including many westerners arrived on the scene to experience the beauty of Chinese painting. A total quota of one hundred for two classes was full within an hour and still many were unable to take part in the class due to the quota restriction.
