Director of Indonesian Public Diplomatic Department Visiting SYSU

 

On May 15, a delegation led by Kumar, the Director of Public Diplomatic Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia visited SYSU. Xu Ningshen, the Vice President of SYSU, and the guests had a friendly talk and expressed their mutual expectation which is to propel the academic exchange between the two universities. Later, the guests and the directors and students of the School of Asian-Pacific Studies and the Institute of South East Asia carried out a discussion in which they covered issues such as the relationship between China and Indonesia, democratic diplomacy, the problem of nation and religion and so on.

SYSU hasn’t established any formal cooperative relationship with any university in Indonesia as of yet, however, Indonesian students accounts for a high percentage of foreign students at SYSU, with a total number of hundred and thirty Indonesian students studying at SYSU, making it the third largest foreign student body after Korea and Vietnam.
