On the afternoon on May 13th, “Tracing the Footprints of the Alumni of SYSU” Symposium took place in the 1st room of LiangQiuJu Hall. Deputy Secretary Li Ping, and Vice President Chen Chunsheng attended the forum and gave speeches, personnel in charge of alumni affairs from various departments, relevant representatives and the entire crew of the Alumni Affairs Office attended the symposium. The Alumni Affairs Office introduced the characteristics and preliminary plans of the project in the year 2009, event schedule of the Alumni Day and the construction of Alumni network and database.. Taking the tracing event as an opportunity, the alumni affairs office will organize this year a series of events for the celebration of the 85th anniversary of SYSU. After that, faculty of Medical Sciences, School of Business, School of Sociology and Anthropology introduced respectively their own experience and plans to combine this event with their alumni work. Deputy Secretary Li Ping fully recognized the efforts each school and department had made for alumni affairs, emphasizing that academies is the foundation of alumni affairs, and reaffirmed the core notion of “service”. Vice President Chen Chunsheng acknowledged the important value
of the project “Tracing the Footprints of The Alumni of SYSU”
which has been held for five consecutive terms from the perspectives
of spiritual heritage, social practice, and the restoration
of the alumni oral history. He also made proposals for this
project’s further development.
