Caring for Autistic Children and Encouraging Healthy Growth
“Caring for Autistic Children” Activity Organized by Students from Department of Social Work, School of Sociology and Anthropology On the occasion of the International Children’s Day-June 1st, students from Department of Social Work, School of Sociology and Anthropology organized a campus promotional activity-“caring for autistic children” in front of the Ruishi Canteen on East Campus. The staff at the event site imparted to the students the causes and basic characteristics of autism through questionnaires, photo display and distribution of pamphlets on rehabilitation and education resources to promote knowledge of the autistic children. They also provided advice on how to communicate with autistic children, including acceptance and tolerance towards autistic children, as well as understanding the parents of the autistic children. Students took part in the activity actively, expressing their
genuine regardss to the autistic children in the message board
with colored pens. The activity was aimed at disseminating the
knowledge of autistic children, promoting a greater attention,
care and encouragement to the autistic children, so that they
can grow up as healthy individuals in a social environment where
there is no discrimination. On evening of June 10th, “The 1st Affiliated Hospital of SYSU
Liu Luanxiong Special Treatment Centre Donation Ceremony” was
held in the 1st affiliated hospital of SYSU. Hong Kong Chinese
Liu Luanxiong, the board chairman of Chinese Estates Group,
donated 30million HKD to back up the construction of operation
building. The hospital will add 1400 sickbeds, and will increase
the daily surgical performance to 200 as compared to less than
100 cases per day previously. It will alleviate the treatment-resource
stress to a great extent. CEO of Chinese Estates Group Liu Mingwei,
Deputy of Hong Kong Liaison Office Li Guikang, Director of Guangdong
Health Department Yao Zhibin, political and party leaders of
