Joint programs

At present, the University runs three joint programs formally approved by the Ministry of Education and the Office of Degree-granting of the State Council:

1. CHEMBA Master of Business Administration for High-ranking Executives on the job

This program was approved by the Ministry of Education and the Degree-granting Office of the State Council in 1999, and is co-managed by the Lingnan (University) College of the University and the Carson School of Management of the University of Minnesota in the US. 2. DESS Master in International Trade

The Sino-French DESS program offering master degree in international trade is co-managed by the municipal government of Lyons, France and the Foundation of Education in State Enterprise Management, the School of Business Management in No. 3 University of France, the Institute of Higher Management in Lyons and the Lingnan (University) College of Sun Yat-sen University, and is a Sino-foreign Cooperative School Program in training professionals at the tertiary level. 3¡¢ Undergraduate education in Chinese
Approved by the Ministry of Education, Sun Yat-sen University and Hanoi University of Foreign Languages in Vietnam cooperate in offering undergraduate education in Chinese for Vietnamese students. The main program is based on the ¡°Curricula of the Specialty in Chinese language (university level)¡± of the university, and is implemented in the mode of ¡°2 plus 2¡± (The students study in Vietnam for two years, then come to Sun Yat-sen University for two more years.) Both parties will work together to train advanced students of Chinese for Vietnam according to the characteristics of the Vietnamese students. Upon passing the examinations, the qualified students will be awarded the diploma of undergraduate studies and the degree of Bachelor. The first batch of students have begun their four-year undergraduate studies in Hanoi in November 2003.
