Guangzhou South Campus

I. No. 1 Student Canteen

The No. 1 Student Canteen (originally called “Graduate Students' Canteen) is located by the Shaw Center of Arts at the center of the South Campus, amidst a quiet and elegant environment. There are altogether 600 seats on the first and second floors. Popular dishes and food are served on the first floor, of which the “steamed buns of Zhongda” have been supplied for over ten years, the hand-made noodles of Lanzhou are in hot sale, and the delicatessen has varieties of cooked food for the faculty and staff. The second floor is air-conditioned, and the delicious soups on sale are favorites of the teachers and students, and are always in short supply. The other two elegantly decorated rooms can be ideal places for banquets.

II. No. 5 Student Canteen

The No. 5 Student Canteen is opposite the Xiongdelong Student Center , with an area of over 6000 square meters and 800 seats. Popular food is supplied on the first floor, and self-service food is supplied on the second floor, where there is air-conditioning and music, and students may choose their own dishes according to the price, quantity and quality freely.

III. Chunhui Canteen

The Chunhui Canteen is also the “new Graduate Students' Canteen”, which is located on the ground floor of the new graduate students' dormitory. It has a total area of nearly 10000 square meters and can seat 1500 people at the same time. All the cooking utensils and dining silverware are made of stainless steel. It is a sample college canteen with the largest area and the most complete equipment and functions on South Campus. On the first floor, all the eight main varieties of cuisines in the nation are served at low prices. The second floor is equipped with central air-conditioning, and provides food with characteristics. There are all kinds of dishes on order, southern snacks, northern noodles, special counters serving medicinal food, deserts, self-picked dishes and fast food. The small dining-rooms are pleasantly and comfortably decorated and are the first choice for buffet for conference held on campus.

IV. Dongyuan Restaurant

The Dongyuan Restaurant is neighboring the No. 5 Student Canteen, and serves mainly fast food, all kinds of fried dishes, congees, noodles and rice noodles, soft drinks, etc., as well as a la carte. There are over 300 seats and 3 separate rooms for giving banquets or get-together.

V. The Moslem Restaurant

The Moslem Restaurant is a restaurant of the Hui nationality which provides food service for the Moslems. There are a wide variety of Moslem food available.

VI. The Faculty Canteen and Puyuan Restaurant

The Faculty Canteen and Puyuan Restaurant serves mainly the faculty and staff living in the West Area of the campus, while students from the East Area are welcomed to try out their dishes of special tastes.

Guangzhou North Campus

The No. 1 and No. 2 Student Canteen are located respectively on the second and third floors of the General Building on Yat-sen Road , and provide the faculty, staff and students with meals.

The International Students' Canteen is on the left wing of the International Students' Building, and provides food service for international students as well as local students on campus.

Zhuhai Campus

There are now four student canteens, one faculty canteen and one western-style restaurant on Zhuhai campus, and can cater to nearly 10000 persons at the same time. One canteen is located between the north section of the Classroom Building and the Liyuan Dormitories, three are located around the Rongyuan Square , the Faculty Canteen is located by the Suiyue Lake , and the Western-style Restaurant is located on the third floor of the Service Center .

Faculty, staff and workers working on the campus and students studying on the campus can eat at the Student or Faculty Canteens with the Campus Card, which is issued by the Center of Cards under the Office of Finance located at 12 th Floor, East Building of the Library.

When the deposit on the card is running down, it can be re-deposited on the depositing machine which are installed at the Faculty and Student Canteens.

When the Campus Card is lost because of carelessness, one has to register it at the registering machine first, then receive a copy from the Center. The registering machines are also installed at the Faculty and Student Canteens.

The Campus Card is managed solely by the Center of Cards . To receive or return the card, one must handle it at the Center. The telephone number of the center is 3668112.

Visitor to the university may purchase food coupons at the counter.

Cash payment or Campus Card is accepted at the restaurant.

The Office of General Affairs has the responsibilities of inspecting, supervising and managing the quality, price and sanitation of the food sold in the canteens. Any complaints may be made at the Office of General Affairs at the number 3668093
