Professor
Qu LiangHu is an accredited professor of the "Yangtze
Scholar Scheme" of the Ministry of Education, specializing
in biochemistry and molecular biology. He graduated
from the bio-chemistry specialty in the Department
of Biology, Wuhan University in 1982, received his
Doctorate degree in biochemistry from France in
1986 and was employed as lecturer at Paul Sabatier
University in France. He returned to China in 1987
and became associate professor at the Center of
Biological Engineering at Sun Yat-sen University.
He was promoted to professor in 1989, and was approved
to be supervisor of doctoral candidates in 1993.
Professor Qu is now director of
the Laboratory for Genetic Engineering and Polymer
and member of the Academic Committee of Sun Yat-sen
University. He is also an academic member of national
key laboratory for molecular biology of the Shanghai
Research Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology
under the Chinese Academy of Science, of the national
key laboratory for aquatic ecology and bio-technology
in Wuhan under the Chinese Academic of Science,
and of laboratory for cell and molecule breaking
of the Kunming Research Institute for Zoology under
the Chinese Academy of Science. He is at the same
time a special editor of Science Journal, a member
of the International RNA Association, a member of
the Committee of Urban and Rural Construction and
Environmental Resource Protection of the 9th Guangdong
People's Congress. Professor Qu was once guest research
fellow at the open laboratory of the Research Institute
for Botany of the Chinese Academy of Science, a
member of the third academic committee of the open
laboratory for fungi and lichen of the Institute
of Biology, member of the fifth appraisal group
of the National Foundation of Natural Science, member
of the disciplinary group of biology of the third
committee of science and technology of the State
Education Commission, guest research fellow of the
CNRS of France, and visiting professor of the Third
University of Turiz, France.
