Recently, the Department of Education of Guangdong Province announced the results of 2013 Outstanding Achievements of Campus Culture Construction in Guangdong Colleges and Universities. Three activities recommended by SYSU were awarded prizes: "Traditional Chinese Cultural Festival at SYSU" won grand prize; “Environmental Protection Tour in Southern Guangdong” won third prize; “Summer Camp Plan for Medical Students” won excellence prize.

From the works recommended by colleges and universities in Guangdong Province, 3 grand prizes, 7 first prizes, 15 second prizes, 25 third prizes and 50 excellence prizes are selected. SYSU has won grand prize for four consecutive years.
