From September 13 to16, 2013, the SYSU Welcome Party for New Students was held on four campuses. Teachers from the schools and relevant functional departments as well as the new students watched the show together.

The welcome party was hosted by SYSU Youth Association and Center for Art Instruction, organized by SYSU Student Union, and prepared by the art associations at SYSU. With the theme of “new strengths, flying dreams”, the party consisted of four chapters: dream of initiative, dream of faith, dream of glory and dream of eternity. It showed the youth dream of SYSU students and the cultural deposit of the University.

The welcome party began with the wonderful performance of “Protect the Yellow River” and “Farandole” by SYSU Symphony Orchestra. Then, performers from Chinese Orchestra, Student Dance Troup, Bayan Band, Lingnan Peking Opera Club, Topshow Street Dance and Cabin Accapella went on the stage to demonstrate their talents. In the welcome party on South Campus, a show called “Chinese and Foreign Song Skewers” performed by international students from the School of Chinese as a Second Language was impressive and received warm applauses from the audience.

Finally, the Student Chorus brought the show to an end with the theme song “New Strengths, Flying Dreams” composed by Mr. Guo Shuiliang specially for this welcome party.
