2014 annual meeting of the 30-Person Forum on Education and the Future of China held at SYSU

On May 9-10, the 2014 annual meeting of the 30-Person Forum on Education and the Future of China, co-sponsored by schools of education in Sun Yat-sen University, Peking University, Beijing Normal University, East China Normal University and Nanjing Normal University, was held in Swasey Hall on South Campus of SYSU. This is the Forum’s fifth annual meeting since its establishment. Nearly 500 teachers and students from various universities as well as friends from the media attended the forum.

In the spirit of “vision and reflection”, and with the theme of “Chinese culture, Chinese education and Chinese people”, this forum aims to advance reform in education and discuss important issues such as reconstruction of Chinese culture and educational system in the new era, the missions of Chinese universities in the new era, imperial examination system and reform of national college entrance exam, and Chinese people in the future and educational goals.
30 experts from across the Taiwan Strait gave speeches, expressed their views on education, and interacted with teachers and students present at the forum.
