On May 21st, the 26-people delegation of Association Partenariat France Chine Electricité (PFCE) led by Mr. Jean-Claude Prenez, Executive Vice President of EDF Asia-Pacific Direction, visited Sino-French Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Technology (SFINET) on Zhuhai Campus of SYSU. Mr. Jean-Marie Bourgeois-Demersay, French Dean of SFINET, and Ms. Yu Zhantao, Deputy Dean of SFINET, received the delegation cordially and showed the delegation around the library of Zhuhai Campus and facilities of SFINET. Members of the delegation spoke highly of Zhuhai Campus’s school environment and SFINET’s facilities of scientific research and teaching.

The PFCE delegation met with the SFINET students who were enrolled in 2010 and 2011. French Dean Jean-Marie BOURGEOIS-DEMERSAY introduced the development course and training mode of SFINET, and Mr. Prenez introduced the basic situation of PFCE to the students. After that, the students spoke enthusiastically and had a lively exchange with the French entrepreneurs. The students’ fluent French, sagacious conversation and confident expression left a deep impression on the French entrepreneurs. The French entrepreneurs said that they looked forward to cooperating with SFINET to create practice platforms for the students and to make a contribution to cultivate Chinese nuclear power talents. Many French companies were willing to provide internships to SFINET students.

At present, SFINET is discussing R&D cooperation with EDF and is about to sign the cooperation agreement. Meanwhile, SFINET is also discussing the construction of the training center of nuclear power emulation technique. In the summer semester of 2014, Areva, EDF, CORYS and CNIM will offer multiple internships which will be the first internship of engineer stage for SFINET students.

PFCE is the first French entrepreneur organization in the nuclear field consisting of 87 French medium-sized and small enterprises. It aims at taking nuclear safety as a goal and leading by high-performance nuclear power products to promote the close and long-term cooperation between French medium-sized and small enterprises and Chinese sector in the nuclear field, and to serve for the Chinese booming nuclear power industry. All the members of PFCE are qualified suppliers of EDF, and their scope of business covers most of areas of advanced technology, such as nuclear valve and valve actuator, forge, steel structure and mechanical engineering, detecting system of radiation protection, etc.
