2014 SYSU undergraduate enrollment in Guangdong completed

On July 13, 2014, SYSU undergraduate enrollment in Guangdong province was completed. 3,737 students are enrolled, with the highest total score in science 672 (ranked 146th) and in humanities 656 (ranked 51st).
Compared with previous years, the gaokao scores of SYSU undergraduate freshmen from Guangdong province show an upward trend: all science students remain top 2% in the province, and this year 70 percent of them enter top 1%; all humanities students remain top 5‰ in the province, and this year 30 percent of them enter 1‰. The number of students with high gaokao scores has also increased this year: SYSU enrolls 52% of science students scored 635-660 and 70% of humanities students scored 630-650 in the province.
In recent years, SYSU has established SYSU-CMU Joint Institute of Engineering, School of Mobile Information Engineering and School of Advanced Computing to provide talent support for the information industry in Guangdong. At present, the undergraduate admission plan in IT related disciplines accounts for 1/3 of SYSU’s total admission plan, which is welcomed by the students. This year, the average score of admission in IT related disciplines at SYSU reaches 640. The School of Advanced Computing, which starts its first undergraduate enrollment this year, has the highest score 656, lowest 643 and average 650.
