Recently, Wen Chenxin, a student enrolled in 2011 in the International Business School (IBS), Sun Yat-sen University, got the highest score of Business Analysis — the ACCA core course in the global test of ACCA held on June 9, 2014.

ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is the global body for professional accountants. It is one of the four Institutes of Certified Public Accountants awarded by the United Kingdom, as well as the most well-known international accounting organizations in the world. ACCA qualification is called “The Pass to the International Accounting World”. The ACCA examination outline has arranged 14 courses for candidates from December 2007. By studying these courses, candidates can get a full grasp on the professional knowledge in finance, financial management, auditing, tax and business strategy and improve their analytical ability and strategic thinking.

It is learned that in October 2010, IBS and ACCA collaborated in an agreement that provides students majoring in the Bachelor of Accounting program with the opportunity to attain an ACCA qualification through a unique fast-track class, which is called ACCA organic class. It adopts the international teaching mode of ACCA and is devoted to cultivating talents with international vision and good professional ethics, who possess the knowledge of modern economics and management, and grasp the practical skills needed in accounting, auditing and financial management positions in enterprises, institutions, intermediary organizations and government. The cooperation has achieved outstanding outcomes. For example, in the global unified test held in June 2014, the average one-time passing rate of IBS students reached nearly 80 percent, while the global average passing rate was less than 40 percent.

In June 2014, eight more students in IBS passed all the 14 exams of ACCA. They will become ACCA members after obtaining their undergraduate diplomas and degree certificates, which means they will step into the quick career access of international economic and financial talents.
