On March 17-18, 2015, a delegation led by Mr. Mitch Kilcrease, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Oklahoma State University (OSU), visited SYSU. Members of the OSU delegation also included Dr. Robert Davis, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies and Assessment, College of Education; Dr. John Veenstra, Department Head, School of Civil and Environmental Sciences; and Ms. Vivian Wang, Manager of Chinese Development.

Prof. Wei Minghai, Vice President of SYSU, met with the guests in the VIP Lounge of Zhongshan Building, accompanied by Mr. Qi Xiaoping, Director of Student Affairs Office, and Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange.

Prof. Wei Minghai said that SYSU and OSU have kept close cooperation since 2009, and he hoped that the two universities would strengthen cooperation in student exchange and student affairs administration. Mr. Mitch Kilcrease said that OSU would further promote and deepen the cooperation with SYSU. The two sides also exchanged opinions on student joint training program in the fields of education and environment.

During the visit, the OSU delegation gave a lecture on student work from a multidisciplinary perspective on East Campus of SYSU, and held talks with representatives from Office of Students’ Affairs, School of Education, and School of Environmental Science and Engineering.

Oklahoma State University (OST) was founded in 1890. The School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration at OSU and Sun Yat-sen Business School at SYSU started the joint undergraduate program in tourism management in 2009.
