The State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs launched the 2014 “Foreign Teachers and I” Essay Competition and “China in the Eyes of Foreign Teachers” Photo Exhibition & Competition in November 2014. The results of the competitions have been announced in May 2015. Two students at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), namely, Chen Yanyu from School of Foreign Languages and Lin Qingmei from International Business School, were awarded Honorable Mention in the essay competition. Associate Professor Fleur Fallon, an Australian expert at the School of Tourism Management of SYSU, won the third prize in the photo competition.

The competition received 8,647 essays from 627 schools and units in 27 provinces. The organizers selected 5 first prizes, 20 second prizes, 60 third prizes and 100 honorable mentions. Nearly a thousand photos taken by 388 foreign experts participated in the photo exhibition & competition. Finally, 2 first prizes, 10 second prizes, 20 third prizes and 30 honorable mentions were awarded to the winners.
