Dragon Boat Racing is a traditional sport in China. On May 23, 2015, the 1st SYSU Dragon Boat Racing was held on Guhe River in East Campus of Sun Yat-sen University. Co-organized by School of Education, Party & Administration Joint Office of East Campus and SYSU Youth Association, the racing attracted 286 participants in 22 teams from 14 schools and departments of SYSU.

The drummer kept the beat, the paddlers drove the boat forward, and the audience was cheering. After two rounds of fierce competition, Lingnan (University) College Team 2 was the champion, School of Engineering Team was the runner-up, and Lingnan (University) College Team 3 won the third place.
