From May 29 to June 7, 2015, the Volleyball Competition of the 9th University Games of Guangdong Province was held on both South Campus and East Campus of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). Nearly a thousand students from 42 colleges and universities took part in the competition. Finally, SYSU volleyball teams won champions in Men’s Group A, Women’s Group A and Men’s Group B competitions. South China Normal University got the first place in Women’s Group B volleyball competition.

SYSU has hosted many provincial college students volleyball games. The SYSU organizing committee for this volleyball competition has once again won praises from the sponsors and participating teams for smooth organization, excellent support and efficient service.
