The 8th G8 & G20 Youth Summits will be held in London, UK and Saint-Petersburg, Russia from June 18th to June 28th, 2013. Qiao Yixing, a student from International Business School, Sun Yat-sen University, has successfully passed 4 rounds of selection: resume screening, phone interview in Chinese, phone interview in English and panel interview. Now she is one of the Chinese delegates of the G8 Youth Summit to be held in London, UK.

The G8 & G20 Youth Summits are high-end elite conferences that bring together young leaders representing the Group of Eight (G8) and Group of Twenty (G20) nations to facilitate discussions about the most pressing issues we face today. The delegates will play governmental roles, discuss topics, exchange ideas and come up with creative solutions to current world issues. Their final agreement will be handed to the leaders of the G8 and G20 for consideration.

In June 2012, the 7th G20 Youth Summit took place in Washington D.C., USA. It was the first time Chinese delegates participated in the summit. They performed perfectly and received praise from other delegations. This year, 12 Chinese young experts in the field of economics, environment, energy, law, media, diplomacy and national defense will form two groups and take part in the G8 and G20 Youth Summit respectively. They are students from Harvard University, UCLA, Tsinghua University, Sun Yat-sen University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Renmin University of China, etc. The “Voice of China” will be heard by the world again.
