After a year’s elaborate preparation, the School of Physics and Engineering of SYSU successfully joins the Society of Physics Students (SPS), which marks that Sun Yat-sen University has become the second university in China to join it.
The Society of Physics Students (SPS) is a student organization of the American Institute of Physics (AIP). It aims to build a development and exchange platform for global undergraduates who are deeply interested in physics. Every year, the SPS will organize a certain number of academic exchange activities and offer scholarships to outstanding students. Every member of the SPS can receive physics publications, the latest research information and personal career development guidance. By now, the SPS has 4,100 members in many universities around the world.
The American Institute of Physics (AIP) is a union made up of 10 top societies in the physical science community in the United States and it is also the biggest publisher of the science of physics in the world. Its member societies include American Physical Society (APS), Optical Society of America (OSA) and American Crystallographic Association (ACA), etc.
In recent years, sticking to the education philosophy of “dedication to teaching, students and learning”, the School of Physics and Engineering has been active in building a platform for the development of students in order to increase their inner drive for learning.
