The 1st Short-term Summer Study Tour to Europe ended in success

The 1st Short-term Study Tour to Europe marked its complete success when the group came back from France on August 11, 2013. The study tour spanned 12 days in four EU countries: Germany, France, the Netherlands and Belgium. During the tour, students attended lectures at Free University of Berlin, Leuphana University Lüneburg and CEBP-Paris, conducting academic and cultural exchanges; they also visited famous attractions and experienced the ancient and modern European culture.

The study tour began in Berlin with a visit to the Rotes Rathaus and Reichstag Building, where students were fully attracted to ancient German architecture and its historical transformation. At Free University of Berlin, one of the eight elite universities in Germany, the group was given an introduction to the university. At Leuphana University Lüneburg, they studied German Higher Education System and enjoyed an interactive discussion with the lecturer.

During the tour, the group also visited the Volkswagen Group in Wolfsburg, the Cathedral of Cologne, the International Court of Justice, the Berlaymont building of EU, the Atomium, the Grand-Place Brussels and other famous spots.

The last stop of the tour was Paris. Students attended the lecture entitled “The Time of Modern until Today” offered by CEBP-Paris, where the French professor brought French history, culture, architecture, cuisine and fashion to life.

The study tour was organized by the School of Foreign Languages of Sun Yat-sen University, undertaken by XIANGFEI Global Education Group, and supported by The Office of Educational Affairs of the Embassy of P.R. China in Germany, Free University of Berlin, Lunenburg University Lüneburg and CEBP-Paris.
