In order to implement SYSU’s internationalized education strategy and broaden students’ international horizons, SYSU Alumni Association launched the program of Sun Yat-sen University Overseas Exchange Centre this year. Relying on overseas alumni associations, the overseas exchange centres make full use of alumni resources to provide support and help for SYSU students who participate in overseas study tours.

The Education Development & Alumni Affairs Office has worked with overseas alumni associations to expand overseas resources. From June to August this year, with the efforts of all parties concerned, the first group of six overseas exchange centres have been established in five countries including the UK, France, New Zealand, Australia and Canada (Toronto & Montreal). These activities have gained positive responses from local alumni and friends and won substantive support and help. Meanwhile, local alumni associations of other Chinese universities have praised this program, saying that they will follow the example of SYSU to provide support for the development of their own alma maters.
