SYSU student claimed the 3rd prize in the 8th China National Japanese Speech Contest

The final round of the 8th China National Japanese Speech Contest was held in the headquarters of NIKKEI Inc. in Tokyo on January 20, 2014. Shen Yang, a Japanese major from School of Foreign Languages, Sun Yat-sen University, claimed the third prize.

16 contestants came to the fore from regional preliminaries to reach the final round, which consisted of prepared speech and Q&A sessions. Shen Yang led off the competition and won the recognition of the judging panel for his calm manner and excellent language skills. The contest awarded one 1st prize, two 2nd prizes and four 3rd prizes.

Shen Yang also won the second prize in the 9th Japanese Essay Contest for Chinese in October, 2013, and attended the award ceremony held in Beijing last December at the Embassy of Japan in China.
