On the morning of June 30, the opening ceremony of 2014 SYSU International Summer Program was held on South Campus. Ms. Huang Ruimin, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, teachers from related schools and departments, as well as 63 international students and 23 SYSU buddies attended the ceremony.

Accompanied by SYSU buddies, the international students started their campus tour from international student dormitory in Zijingyuan and walked along Yat-sen Road. They were impressed by the beautiful scenery as they passed Swasey Hall, Statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, Xing Pavilion…

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Director Huang Ruimin gave a welcome speech. She said that the International Summer Program provides a platform for students to make new friends and encounter new cultures. She hoped that the students would embrace new challenges and experiences, and enjoy themselves in this diverse learning community in July.

Then, two SYSU buddies Deng Chaoyuan and Chen Youyang gave a brief introduction to the four campuses, study and life in SYSU. The buddy representative Li Xiaoming introduced all the SYSU buddies to the international students.

Finally, the program manager introduced the schedule, courses, grading system and communication activities. After the ceremony, the students took a group photo.
