On the afternoon of November 17, a book donation ceremony was held at the Guangzhou English Training Center for the Handicapped (GETCH) where School of Foreign Languages (FLS), Sun Yat-sen University donated 1,245 books of approximately 45,000 RMB to GETCH. The donation was organized by Guangzhou English Language Center (GELC) and Party Branch of Graduate Students 2014 of FLS. Associate Professor Liao Haiqing, Director of GELC; Mr. Cao Xin, Deputy Party Secretary of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and International Studies; Ms. Dong Wan and Mr. Hua Yi, Student Counselors at FLS; Ms. Hu Miaoling, President of GETCH; and Ms. Tang Yun, teacher of GETCH, participated in the event.

Ms. Hu Miaoling expressed her gratitude to FLS as well as her determination to make the best of the books for the cultivation of students.

Mr. Cao Xin reviewed the close cooperation between FLS and GETCH since 1995, and said that students of FLS were inspired by the confidence and optimism of GETCH members and would carry on with the voluntary work so as to contribute to the development of GETCH.

On behalf of FLS, Associate Professor Liao Haiqing handed over the books and received the donation certificate. During the later discussion, FLS and GETCH reached an agreement on construction of internship base and the co-organization of Thanksgiving Party and New Year Party. Through a series of voluntary activities, the love of FLS students will be widely spread.
