SYSU students won prizes in the 1st China Graduate Competition on Application, Design and Innovation of Mobile-Terminal

Recently, the final contest of the 1st China Graduate Competition on Application, Design and Innovation of Mobile-Terminal was held in Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. SYSU teams won a first prize and a third prize in the competition.
The competition consisted of four designated topics on mobile life, mobile business, mobile cloud service and mobile internet safety as well as one open topic. About 1,800 postgraduate students of 612 teams registered for the competition. Through online evaluation, 150 works from 59 universities entered the national final contest. Finally, 20 first prizes, 44 second prizes, 85 third prizes and 14 excellent organizing prizes were selected.
Two SYSU teams entered the final contest. “Miss You APP—an essential artifact for lovers”, designed by Xiao Wenfeng from School of Data and Computer Science, with its innovative UI design, unique and interesting feature set, as well as one million users, won the unanimous favor of the judges and was awarded the first prize. The tutor for this project was Prof. Huang Xiaobin from School of Information Management. “Public sentiment analysis system APP”, designed by Jin Wei, Li Hongzhao and Wang Jingyi from School of Mobile Information Engineering, tutored by Lecturer Zhang Zizhen from School of Mobile Information Engineering, won third prize.
This competition is one of the National Graduate Innovative Practice Activities, and Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) is an organizing unit. The competition is hosted by China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center (CDGDC) and Children & Youth Science Center of China Association for Science and Technology (CYSCC), and co-hosted by National Educational Guidance Committee for the Graduate of Engineering.
