In the afternoon on April 3, President Xu Ningsheng paid a visit to Mr. C Y Leung, the Chief Executive of HKSAR, at the Government House in Hong Kong, accompanied by Deputy Secretary Li Ping, Assistant President Chen Shaobin, and Director of Education Development & Alumni Affairs Office Li Hanrong.

Mr. C Y Leung extended his welcome to President Xu Ningsheng and said that education is a focus of the work of the HKSAR government. He thanked SYSU for its contribution to Hong Kong’s talent cultivation over the years. Mr. Leung pointed out that SYSU enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad and has made a lot of contribution to Hong Kong in the areas of society, politics, economy, education and training of science and technology talents. He hoped that HKSAR and Hong Kong’s universities will have deeper cooperation with SYSU in these areas and realize complement of advantages and common development.
President Xu Ningsheng thanked the HKSAR government and the Chief Executive for their support for SYSU’s educational development, and introduced SYSU’s development in recent years, especially SYSU’s cooperation with the HKSAR government and Hong Kong’s universities in scientific research and talent cultivation. He hoped that Mr. C Y Leung will continue to support the development of SYSU’s educational cause, and invited the Chief Executive to attend the events organized by SYSU in Hong Kong at proper time.
Deputy Secretary Li Ping introduced SYSU’s talent training for Hong Kong region and hoped that SYSU will make more contribution to the cultivation of responsible young talents for Hong Kong.
