Pro-Vice Chancellor of Malmö University visits SYSU
On the afternoon of March 26, Prof. Hans Lindquist, Pro-Vice Chancellor Research of Malmö University, Sweden, visited SYSU. Members of the delegation also included Dr. Ingrid Dackert, Dean of Faculty of Culture and Society, and Dr. Johan Elmfeldt, Dean of Faculty of Education and Society. Mr. Chen Jiasheng, Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Office of People’s Government of Guangdong Province accompanied the guests in the visit. Prof. Zhu Xiping, Vice President of SYSU, met with the delegation, accompanied by Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, and Dr. Qu Qiongfei, Associate Dean of School of Education.

Vice President Zhu Xiping extended a warm welcome to Pro-Vice Chancellor Hans Lindquist and introduced SYSU’s history, discipline development and campus construction, especially international cooperation and exchange. He pointed out that SYSU has kept close cooperative relations with Swedish universities, and hoped the two sides will have more extensive and multilevel collaborations.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Hans Lindquist gave a general introduction to Malmö University, saying that Malmö University is on a smaller scale with emphasis on scientific research and strength in sustainable city planning and urbanization studies. He also stressed that Malmö University hopes to establish cooperative relations with Chinese universities.
After the meeting, the delegation also visited School of Education of SYSU.
Malmö University is a public university located in Malmö, Sweden. Founded in 1998, it is now the 8th largest university in Sweden. It has five faculties, namely, Faculty of Technology and Society, Faculty of Culture and Society, Faculty of Education and Society, Faculty of Odontology and Faculty of Health and Society.
