On the morning of March 25, Father Joey Cruz, Vice President of Ateneo de Manila University, visited SYSU. Prof. Yan Guangmei, Vice President of SYSU, met with the guests. Prof. Wang Bin, Academic & Administrative Supervisor of School of International Studies, and Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Vice President Yan Guangmei introduced SYSU’s development in medical sciences, especially in the field of public health. Vice President Father Joey Cruz expressed the hope to conduct collaborations with SYSU in medical sciences and expand the current student exchange program into the medical field.

Founded in 1859, Ateneo de Manila University is a renowned private university in the Philippines. In October 2006, SYSU and Ateneo worked together and established SYSU’s first Confucius Institute at Ateneo de Manila University.
