Vice-Chancellor of Linköping University visited SYSU

On the afternoon of March 11, Prof. Helen Dannetun, Vice-Chancellor of Linköping University, Sweden, led a delegation to visit SYSU. Zhu Xiping, Vice President of SYSU, met with the delegation, accompanied by Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, Prof. Zheng Limin and Prof. Zhuang Shimei, alumni of Linköping University.

Vice President Zhu Xiping extended a warm welcome to Vice-Chancellor Helen Dannetun and introduced the basic facts about SYSU, focusing on the international cooperation and exchange as well as key international cooperation projects. He pointed out that SYSU has kept a close and friendly cooperation with Linköping University with many mutual visits and exchanges, and he hoped to promote broader and deeper cooperation between the two universities.

Vice-Chancellor Helen Dannetun gave an overview about Linköping University. She emphasized that as a research-based comprehensive university with a high level of internationalized education, Linköping University keeps a long-term friendly cooperative relationship with Chinese universities. She also expressed her wish of establishing cooperation with SYSU as soon as possible.

During this visit, the delegation visited Lingnan College, School of Physics & Engineering, School of Mathematics & Computational Science, School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Zhongshan School of Medicine, The First Affiliated Hospital, Sino-French Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Technology, and International Business School.

Linköping University (LiU) is a public comprehensive university in Sweden established in 1965. There are four faculties at Linköping University: Arts & Sciences, Medicine and Health Sciences, Institute of Technology, and Educational Sciences. Its outstanding disciplines include Science and Engineering, Medical Sciences, Computer Science, and Sociology.
