At the beginning of the new semester, the SYSU 2014 Spring Work Conference is held on Zhuhai Campus today. The two-day conference will make arrangements for the work of the University in 2014, and discuss The Charter of Sun Yat-sen University (draft version). Secretary Zheng Detao and President Xu Ningsheng will preside over the conference respectively.

At the meeting this morning, Secretary Zheng Detao introduced the topics, content and agenda of the conference.

President Xu Ningsheng made general arrangements for the various work of the University in 2014.

Executive Vice President Wang Jianping, Executive Deputy Secretary and Vice President Chen Chunsheng, Vice President Yan Guangmei, Deputy Secretary Li Ping respectively delivered a speech, proposing plans for 2014 and defining the goals and focuses of their work.

At the meeting this afternoon, Deputy Secretary Guo Yaping, Vice Presidents Li Mengfeng, Wei Minghai, Li Shanmin and Zhu Xiping, Assistant Presidents Xia Lianghui, Li Wenjun, Chen Shaobin and Ma Jun will respectively make a speech on their work. On February 21, group discussions will be held for the humanities, science and engineering, and medical sciences respectively.

All university leaders, assistant presidents, secretaries of second-level Party Committees, persons in charge of functional departments, schools and departments directly under the university, units directly under the university, affiliated hospitals (units), logistics group, industry group and relevant research units attend the conference.
