Today, the SYSU 2013 Summer Work Seminar is being held in Swasey Hall on South Campus, with the aim to urge the schools, departments and affiliated hospitals to implement their development plans. The seminar is presided over by Secretary Zheng Detao. Secretary Zheng Detao and President Xu Ningsheng are going to make concluding remarks and make arrangements for the work of the University.
In the morning session, Executive Deputy Secretary and Vice President Chen Chunsheng, Deputy Secretary and Vice President Zhu Kongjun, Vice President Wei Minghai gave a report on teaching, logistics support and personnel work respectively.

The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, The Third Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Office of Development Planning and Discipline Construction, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, School of Environmental Science and Engineering gave brief introduction to their work and put forward plans for future development.

The university leaders, assistant presidents, heads of functional departments, schools and departments, affiliated units, logistics group and industry group, directors of research institutes, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and teacher representatives attend the one-and-a-half-day seminar and discuss the development of the University.
