On the morning of August 27, Professor Anna Dominiczak, Vice Principal and Head of College, University of Glasgow (UoG) visited SYSU. Professor Xu Ningsheng, President of SYSU, and Professor Zhu Xiping, Vice President of SYSU, met with the guest. SYSU participants also included Professor Ji Hongbing, Director of Department of Local Services and Cooperation in Industry-University-Research, Office of Scientific Research and Development; Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange; and Professor Wen Wushao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.

President Xu Ningsheng extended warm welcome to the guest and said that the close cooperation and frequent academic exchanges between SYSU and UoG are the basis for further collaborations and provide favorable condition for collaboration in the project of Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (SSGKC).
Professor Anna Dominiczak expressed the hope of speeding up the preliminary phase of the collaboration with SYSU in the project of SSGKC, and made substantial proposals to the medical development of SSGKC.
During the meeting, the two sides also held in-depth discussions on possible fields of cooperation and further collaborations.
Background Information:
In March 2013, SYSU and UoG signed a MOU on Academic Cooperation. The undergraduate short term exchange program has been launched. The joint masters program in public health is under discussion. Meanwhile, the two sides are promoting collaborations in cancer research, stomatology, computer sciences and earth sciences.
