Sun Yat-sen University Guangdong Local Legislation Research Evaluation and Consultation Service Base & Sun Yat-sen University Local Legislation Research Center unveiled

On the morning of August 29, the plaque unveiling ceremony of Sun Yat-sen University Guangdong Local Legislation Research Evaluation and Consultation Service Base & Sun Yat-sen University Local Legislation Research Center was held on East Campus. Secretary Zheng Detao, Vice President Wei Minghai, party and administrative leaders of East Campus and the School of Law, and permanent researchers of the Base/Center, attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Professor Huang Yao, executive deputy director of the Base, reviewed the construction of the Base/Center, and introduced the work plan for the next step. Vice President Wei Minghai presented the appointment certificates to the permanent researchers of the Base/Center and unveiled the plaque. Secretary Zheng Detao made a concluding remark at the meeting.

Secretary Zheng Detao pointed out that, to jointly build the local legislation base with universities was an important measure taken by the new Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress, which showed its trust in legal science and related disciplines at SYSU. The University would take this opportunity of development to promote its research level in the field of local legislation and related disciplines, and provide intellectual and talent support for the local legislation practice in Guangdong.

After the meeting, the attendants visited the office of the Base/Center and held discussions about its organization and operation mechanism.
