A Delegation led by Professor James Tang, Dean of School of Social Sciences at Singapore Management University, visits SYSU

On the morning of June 14, a 3-member delegation led by Professor James Tang, Dean of School of Social Sciences at Singapore Management University (SMU), visited SYSU. Professor Wei Minghai, Vice President of SYSU, met with the guests. Professor Cai He, Dean of School of Sociology and Anthropology; Mr. Yuan Xuyang, Deputy Director of Office of Social Sciences & Humanities; and Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, attended the meeting.

Vice President Wei Minghai and representatives of both parties witnessed the signing ceremony.


Dean Ma Jun and Dean James Tang signed the student exchange agreement.
 
Vice President Wei Minghai first expressed warm welcome to Dean James Tang, and then he reviewed the two universities’ exchange history. Later, the two parties had an in-depth discussion on the innovative way of student exchange and the possibility of SMU entering SYSU’s “Center of Sustainable Development and Collaborative Innovation in the Pioneer Open-and-Reform Regions”. After the meeting, Professor Cai He, Dean of School of Sociology and Anthropology; Professor Ma Jun, Dean of School of Government, respectively signed a student exchange agreement with Dean James Tang on behalf of each school.

Singapore Management University (SMU) was established in 2000, ranking the third in Singapore.
