After teachers responsible for different sections reviewed their work, Wang Lixia, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department, announced the selection results for Ten Best Student Journalists/Editors and Outstanding Student Journalists/Editors. Qiu Guoxin, Director of the Publicity Department, and Deputy Director Wang Lixia presented awards to the winners.
Zhuang Xiaohan, a senior student from School of Geography and Planning, gave a speech on behalf of the award-winning students, sharing her thoughts as a student journalist working in the Publicity Department for four years. Having worked as deputy head of the Correspondent Station of News Center on Zhuhai Campus and head of the journalist team of Sun Yat-sen University Gazette, she said, “The Publicity Department is my other home.”
Director Qiu Guoxin affirmed the hard work of the teachers and student journalists/editors. He said that, student journalists are an important pillar of the publicity work of SYSU, they have achieved remarkable results, and Zhuang Xiaohan’s speech represents the high level of SYSU student journalists. He hoped that the graduating students will continue to promote SYSU, serve and contribute to society.
