On the morning of May 16, a four-member group led by Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, Consul-General of Royal Thai Consulate-General Guangzhou, visited SYSU. President Xu Ningsheng met with the guests, accompanied by Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation & Exchange.

President Xu Ningsheng extended warm welcome to Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak and her group and gave an introduction to SYSU. Both sides recalled the cooperation and exchange between SYSU and Thai colleges and institutions and discussed the feasibility of deepening collaborations in teacher exchange and volunteer Chinese teacher program. Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak said that she would give her full support for the cooperation between SYSU and Thai colleges and institutions.
Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak was appointed as the Consul-General of Royal Thai Consulate-General Guangzhou in May, 2012. This was her first visit to SYSU since she took office.
