On the morning of April 8, a group led by Ms. Liu Hua, Deputy Director-General of UNA-China, visited SYSU. Li Ping, Deputy Secretary of SYSU Party Committee, met with them in the VIP room of Zhongshan Building. Chen Feng, former UN simultaneous interpreter, an alumnus and visiting professor of SYSU; Qi Xiaoping, Director of Student Affairs Office; Tang Rui, Deputy Secretary of SYSU Youth League; Cao Xin, Deputy Secretary of the Party committee of School of Foreign Languages; and Xu Yao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, attended the meeting.

Deputy Secretary Li Ping extended her welcome to the guests and gave an introduction to SYSU’s educational tradition and development. She said that UNA-China provides a good platform for young students, and the mutual cooperation will help develop students’ international visions and their ability to handle international affairs. Deputy Director-General Liu Hua introduced the situation and major work of UNA-China. Both sides discussed the possibility of collaborations in Model United Nations, international civil servants capacity building training program and UN research, and reached a consensus.
