Leaders from Bureau of CAS Membership Paid a Visit to Prof. SU Qiang at SYSU

On the morning of November 7th, ZHOU Dejin, Director of the Bureau of CAS Membership and his team visited Professor SU Qiang at Sun Yat-sen University, accompanied by YU Shiyou, Deputy Secretary of SYSU Party Committee and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission, XU Kuiwen, Deputy Secretary of Party Leadership Group and Head of Discipline Inspection Group of the Guangzhou Branch of CAS and Guangdong Provincial Academy of Sciences. Leaders from the Office of Life Sciences of CAS, the Academician Liaison Office of Guangzhou Branch of CAS, the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at SYSU and the Human Resources Department, SYSU were also present at the visit.

Director Zhou Dejin conveyed the regards of BAI Chunli, President of Chinese Academy of Sciences, thanking Professor Su Qiang for his long-term dedication to rare earth study and popular science education work, and asking about his health condition and working and living situations. Professor Su Qiang expressed sincere thanks for the concern of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Bureau of CAS Membership and SYSU leaders, saying that with national support and promotion for rare earth research, the rare earth field will obtain greater achievements and our country’s science and technology cause will make more progress.
Before the farewell, Professor Su Qiang presented his picture album The Rare Earth Affection: Celebrating Professor Su Qiang’s 80th Birthday to Director Zhou Dejin and they took photos together as a memento.
