On the morning of November 5, a delegation led by Kim Sung Du, Chairman of the DPRK Education Commission, and accompanied by LIU Baoli, Inspector of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education, and WEI Zhonglin, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, paid a visit to Sun Yat-sen University. ZHENG Detao, Secretary of SYSU Party Committee and YAN Guangmei, Vice President of SYSU met with the guests.

Secretary Zheng Detao extended a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of SYSU, and gave an introduction to Chairman Kim Sung Du about the basic situation of SYSU as well as the general situation of the exchange and cooperation between SYSU and North Korean universities. Chairman Kim Sung Du expressed gratitude to Secretary Zheng Detao for his warm reception, and the willingness to promote exchange and cooperation between North Korean universities and SYSU, and broaden areas of collaboration and enrich the content of cooperation.

After the meeting, Vice President Yan Guangmei accompanied the delegation to visit Sun Yat-sen University Press. CHEN Jinhua, Chairman of SYSU Press, QI Jun, President of SYSU Press and ZHOU Jianhua, Editor-in-Chief of SYSU Press introduced the current situation of the press and the publication of various kinds of books to the delegation in detail, and also presented books to the DPRK Education Commission as gifts.
FENG Xinglei, Director of the Office of Exchange and Cooperation of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, WANG Bin, Academic & Administrative Supervisor of the School of International Studies, LIU Yu, Director of the Department of Korean Language, MENG Cuiyang, Deputy Director of the Institute of Science and Technology Development, XU Jin, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation & Exchange were also present at the meeting.
