On October 16th, President Xu Ningsheng and Deputy Secretary Li Ping attended The 3rd Forum on Future Development of China in Hong Kong, accompanied by Li Hanrong, Director of the Education Development and Alumni Affairs Office. The Forum was organized by Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation. Lu Yongxiang, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Dr. Lee Shau Kee, Chairman of Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation, Mr. Ian Fok Chun Wan, Chairman of the Standing Committee of Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation, Lap-Chee Tsui, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Hong Kong, and Tony Fan-Cheong Chan, President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, a total of more than one hundred distinguished guests in various fields attended the forum.

During the forum, President Xu Ningsheng met with Mr. Ian Fok Chun Wan, CEO of the Fok Ying Tung Group and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation. He thanked Mr. Henry Fok Ying Tung, Mr. Ian Fok Chun Wan, and Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation for their long-time support for the educational development of Sun Yat-sen University, and hoped that the two sides could cooperate in broader fields. Mr. Ian Fok Chun Wan said that he would continue Mr. Henry Fok Ying Tung’s work to support the educational cause of the motherland, especially the educational development of Sun Yat-sen University.
