Macao Polytechnic Institute Dean Li Xiangyu and the Delegation Visits SYSU

A delegation headed by Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) Dean Li Xiangyu visited SYSU on June 1, and SYSU Deputy Secretary Yu Shiyou, SYSU Vice President Wei Minghai met them respectively.
MPI Dean Li Xiangyu said that the two institutions had already attained fruitfully in many areas during their cooperation, including researches in history, gambling, and Macao. This visit, according to Dean Li Xiangyu, aimed not only at showing gratitude to SYSU, but also at exploring more possibilities of academic exchanges and cooperation in other areas, such as in history and culture. SYSU Deputy Secretary Yu Shiyou extended cordial welcome to the delegation, and deemed that both sides possessed solid cooperation foundation and positive cooperation wills. He also stated clearly that SYSU would fully support cooperation fields expansion and cooperation levels enhancing, so as to reach mutual developments and mutual benefits. During the meeting, both sides conducted in-depth discussions on issues like Macao historical research, Portuguese-speaking talents training, intangible cultural heritage cooperation research, etc. In the meantime, they put forward preliminary ideas and reached consensus. SYSU Vice President Wei Minghai met the delegation at noon, and talked about further strengthening cooperation. Responsible personnel from SYSU Department of History, Institute of Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage, Center for Studies of Hong Kong, Macao and Pearl River Delta, Exchange Office for Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs attended the meeting.
