India Consul General in Guangzhou Dhiraj Mukhia Visited SYSU

Recently, the India Consul General in Guangzhou Dhiraj Mukhia visited SYSU. Vice President Wei Minghai welcomed him in the VIP room at the Zhongshan House. It was Consul General Dhiraj Mukhia’s first visit to SYSU since he took office. Associate Dean Wang Xinsheng from Asia-Pacific Research Institute (APRI) of SYSU, Dr. Huang Yinghong, and the Deputy Director Xu Yao from ICEO and others attended the meeting.
Vice President Wei Minghai first introduced the current status of Indian students , and the exchange and cooperation between SYSU and Indian universities. Then he provided concrete recommendations on how to strengthen cooperation between SYSU and Indian universities in the future, including improving student exchange programs, establishing partnerships,and relevant cooperative research institutions with well-known Indian universities. Dhiraj Mukhia said that the India Consulate General in Guangzhou attached high importance to the cooperation with SYSU; it would vigorously push the exchange and cooperation between Indian universities and SYSU. Wang Xinsheng, the Associate Dean of APRI of SYSU, introduced the recent cooperation and future cooperation plan between APRI and Indian universities, especially the idea to set up a SYSU India Research Center, which was positively endorsed by the Consul General Dhiraj Mukhia.
