German Higher Education Day 2012 Held at SYSU

On March 14 and 15, German Higher Education Day 2012 was held in the auditorium on SYSU South Campus. Representatives of 12 colleges and institutes from Germany took part in the activity. On the afternoon of March 14, the opening ceremony was held in the auditorium. Participants were the vice President of SYSU Yan Guangmei, the vice Germany Consul General in Guangzhou Kou Wengang, and the Director of DAAD Guangzhou Information Center Kong Lide, and they all addressed the opening ceremony.

SYSU Vice President Yan Guangmei pointed out that, German colleges and institutes had been one of SYSU’s important partners in the field of international cooperation, the educational cooperation and exchanges had always showed a good development trend. SYSU hoped to carry out more quintessential cooperation programs with German partners, so as to pursue a substantive cooperation of high-standard, high-level and multiform. He also hoped that teachers and students could benefit from the exchanges, have a better understanding on the situation of German colleges and its higher education via German Higher Education Day. With this opportunity, vice President Yan showed his appreciation to the German Consul General and DAAD Guangzhou Information Center for their consistent support in cooperation and exchanges.
German Higher Education Day, aiming at providing a face-to-face exchange platform for college teachers and students of Guangdong and representatives of German colleges, was organized by DAAD Guangzhou Information Center and undertaken by International Cooperation and Exchange Office of SYSU. German Higher Education Day had been successfully held at SYSU in 2006, 2008 and 2010. The activity not only promoted the exchanges and cooperation between SYSU and German colleges and institutes, but also provided more information on German colleges and education for teachers and students of SYSU and other colleges.
